PJ Time: 100 Devotions to Light Up the Night

Baths, books, pajama snuggles and “good night” prayers are regular players in my family’s bedtime routine. While I enjoy closing out the day with prayers whispered into the ears of my little ones, I especially love reading a family devotional that sparks conversation and fills my children’s heads with love, encouragement and biblical truth.

The latest devotional we are working through is called PJ Time: 100 Devotions to Light Up the Night. This book is centered around all things “nighttime” and is as beautifully illustrated as it is written. Each of the 100 devotions includes a scripture passage, fascinating facts about the wonders of God’s world after dark, inspiration and guidance on how to live out God’s love by shining your light, and a prayer that supports the devotion’s theme.

There are fascinating facts about the moon’s glow, the blinking patterns of lightning bugs, sleeping otters holding hands, and more, all revealing God’s love, care, intention to detail, and powerful truth. Geared at boys and girls aged 4-8, your child will be enchanted by the curious world they live in and amazed by the wonders of God’s creation. My kids appreciate the fun, whimsical illustrations of this book along with the creative connections made between light and dark/day and night relating to how they should be living out their faith. Likewise, each devotion sparked intriguing conversation amongst my family as my children were challenged to reflect on their personal triumphs and daily struggles.

PJ Time: 100 Devotions to Light Up the Night is a wonderful bedtime “helper” that will settle down your kids for a peaceful night’s sleep while reminding them God is always awake and available to spend time with His children.
