What mom doesn’t want to satisfy her children’s never-ending snack requests with a healthy option that is filling, nutritious, naturally sweet, and super simple and quick to make?

After the snack “win” I received with my Berry Yogurt Pops over the summer, I was motivated to play around some more with Greek yogurt to create other rich and creamy snack sensations. Alas, this easy, peasy Fruity Yogurty Smoothie was born! (Seriously, it’s so easy my two-year-old and four-year-old can make it! Under my supervision, of course 😉 )

My Fruity Yogurty Smoothie is a perfect after-school or pre-/post- workout snack, breakfast alternative, or meal replacement for those who are in a hurry or fasting and want to consume something you feel good about. I also love that this smoothie can be prepared in just a few minutes, is flexible with flavor combinations, and has a recipe that is easy to remember (think: 2x2x2x2).

Bonus: Because it’s made in a blender, you can throw in additional health boosters like protein powder, chia seeds, matcha, collagen powder (for adults-only!)…whatever floats your boat!

Fruity Yogurty Smoothie

Serves: 4-6 (approx. 6-8oz portions)

Prep Time: None

Total Time: <5 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 2 ripe bananas, peeled
  • 2 cups of frozen fruit (I like to use frozen strawberries or a mixed berry blend)
  • 2 cups of Greek yogurt* (plain, vanilla, honey or fruit-flavored)
  • 2 tsp of honey** (optional)

Let’s do this!

  1. Measure all ingredients and add into a blender. Blend until you reach a smooth consistency and creamy texture, about 1-2 minutes. If preferred, add ice or thin out the smoothie with water if it is too thick.
  2. Portion into glasses.
  3. Enjoy!

*I like to use non-fat Greek yogurt in a honey-vanilla flavor but any type of Greek yogurt works well in this recipe. If you’re going for a fruit-flavored yogurt, I recommend coordinating the flavor of the yogurt with your frozen fruit of choice.

**I only add honey to this smoothie if I’m using plain Greek yogurt. I omit it whenever I use a flavored yogurt.
