Indescribable: For Little Ones

By Louie Giglio with Tama Fortner

There’s been a lot of science talk on the news in recent years. Whether it be scientific claims, the overuse and deception of scientism (which is rooted in opinion, bias or political agenda rather than logic, fact or the scientific method), or the debate that God and science cannot coexist.

I’ll be honest, I am not a math and science type of gal. As a student, I gravitated towards English-Language Arts and the study of the Spanish language. While my disdain for all things math-related remains today, I have taken an interest in both science and history as an adult. That curiosity has poured into a purposeful intention to raise children who appreciate and respect both the science of God’s creation and the history of God’s people.

You guys know I absolutely love reading and am always in search of a good (quality and content) book for either myself or my children. I was so grateful for the opportunity to read, review and give away a copy of Louie Giglio’s children’s devotional, How Great is Our God, prior to its 2019 release. How Great is Our God was the follow-up devotional to Giglio’s bestselling, Indescribable: 100 Devotions About God and Science. In my opinion, the concept of combining God and science into a devotional geared towards children is a genius idea! My kids often ask to read “the science devotionals” and are always intrigued to learn more or dig deeper into a specific scientific feature or scriptural passage.

So, of course, I couldn’t wait to get my hands on Indescribable: For Little Ones by Louie Giglio (with Tama Fortner). Indescribable: For Little Ones is all of the goodness of Indescribable condensed into a 10-page board book appealing to children 0-5 years old.

The illustrations, done by Nicola Anderson, are whimsical and corresponding to the image themes in Indescribable: 100 Devotions About God and Science. While the overall content in this book mimics that of its predecessor, this younger adaption adds a spinning wheel and pull tabs for a more hands-on sensory experience.

Indescribable: For Little Ones begins with the story of creation and includes scientific facts along with fascinating tidbits about the earth, wildlife, space, human body, and more! It makes science exciting and relatable while interweaving the wonders of God’s majesty, creativity and purpose for His creation.

This STEM-themed book would make a fantastic addition to your family’s book collection and is also a brilliant gift for baby showers, birthdays, other special occasions, or just because 🙂

My family absolutely loved Indescribable: For Little Ones and found it to be a great accompaniment to Louie Giglio’s other devotions about God and science.
