From visiting local orchards for U-Pick apple fun to exploring the variety of uses to cook, bake and eat apples, to burning apple-scented candles and everything in between, the apple is a seasonal fall staple as well as one of my favorite fall flavors to enjoy during my favorite time of the year.

If you’re in the mood for a festive fall treat that is easy to prepare, quick to devour, and has all of the richness and yumminess of a fresh-baked apple pie but without any of the time or hassle, then you must check out my apple crisp recipe! Perhaps you will fall in love with this delectable fall-flavored dessert, but you won’t know until you give it a try 😉

BEST EVER APPLE CRISP

Serves: 12

Prep time: 30 minutes

Cook time: 45 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 10 cups all-purpose apples, peeled, cored and thinly sliced (I like to use Honey Crisp or Jonagold apples, but any cooking apple will work)
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1 TBSP all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/8 tsp ground cloves
  • 1/8 tsp allspice
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 cup quick-cooking oats
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted

Let’s Do This!

1.) Preheat oven to 350 degrees F

2.) Peel, core, and thinly slice the apples. Place the sliced apples in a 9×13 inch pan.

3.) Mix the white sugar, 1 TBSP flour, 1 tsp ground cinnamon, cloves and allspice together, and sprinkle over apples. Pour water evenly over all and gently stir to combine.

4.) Combine the oats, 1 cup flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, baking powder, baking soda and melted butter together. Crumble evenly over the apple mixture.

5.) Bake at 350 degrees for about 45 minutes.

6.) Allow the dish to cool before serving, about 10-15 minutes. If desired, serve with a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream and a drizzle of salted caramel. Enjoy!
